Who We Are
The Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority, otherwise known as AHBRA, was established in February 2021 to oversee the effective governance, financial management and performance of all voluntary and co-operative housing bodies, in accordance with the legal framework set out in the Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 (the Act).
AHBRA is tasked with providing the regulation of Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) for the purpose of supporting stronger governance and the financial viability of the AHB sector, with a particular focus on safeguarding the significant public investment being made in the delivery of social housing by AHBs. AHBRA aims to provide assurances to investors, tenants, the government and to the AHB sector itself that social housing providers operate in a well-regulated and stable environment.

Procurement Specialist
The Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority (AHBRA) invites applications for the position of Procurement Specialist (Senior Staff Officer, Grade 6). This is an excellent opportunity to join Ireland's independent regulator of Approved Housing Bodies and contribute to the effective delivery of its corporate procurement and facilities management functions.
Reporting to the Corporate Operations Manager, the Procurement Specialist will provide professional support across AHBRA's procurement function, with responsibility for coordinating procurement activities and overseeing outsourced facilities service providers.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with Office of Government Procurement (OGP) policies and procedures, and delivering transparent, value-for-money purchasing outcomes. The role will also involve contract management, supplier relationship management and monitoring the performance of external facilities providers, including those responsible for maintenance, environmental reporting, health and safety.
This varied role will suit someone with experience in public procurement, strong organisational and analytical skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
