Who We Are

The Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority, otherwise known as AHBRA, was established in February 2021 to oversee the effective governance, financial management and performance of all voluntary and co-operative housing bodies, in accordance with the legal framework set out in the Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 (the Act).

AHBRA is tasked with providing the regulation of Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) for the purpose of supporting stronger governance and the financial viability of the AHB sector, with a particular focus on safeguarding the significant public investment being made in the delivery of social housing by AHBs. AHBRA aims to provide assurances to investors, tenants, the government and to the AHB sector itself that social housing providers operate in a well-regulated and stable environment.



Current Vacancies

Financial Analyst, Grade 6

AHBRA seeks a Financial Analyst to join its team and will hold a competition for the  appointment of a person to this position which will hold the internal title of ‘Regulatory Oversight Leader (Grade 6). The post is based in our offices in Dublin 2. AHBRA operates a Blended Working Policy.

Reporting to a Regulatory Manager, the Financial Analyst will contribute to a wide range of work with AHBs including assessing financial statements and forecasts, financial viability, financial risks, obtaining assurance in the areas of financial management, financial reporting, financial risk, debt and treasury. This role will work with a Regulatory Team to deliver on the AHBRA assessment programme with particular focus on financial compliance for a range of AHBs and provides an opportunity for significant growth for individuals wishing to expand their knowledge, skills and expertise.

Procurement Specialist (Grade 6)

AHBRA seeks a Procurement Specialist to join its team and will hold a competition for the appointment of a person to this position. The post is based in our offices in Dublin 2. AHBRA operates a Blended Working Policy.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, the Procurement Specialist will provide professional support across the procurement function as well as oversight of outsourced providers of facilities services to AHBRA. The primary focus of the role is managing overall procurement activity, but responsibilities will also include ensuring service providers for facilities and health & safety are meeting their regulatory and contractual obligations. 

On the procurement side, the role will coordinate compliant, transparent and value for-money purchasing processes, while contributing to robust contract management and supplier relationships. The role holder will play a key role in monitoring service 
levels, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, ensuring policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

Accounts and Payroll Executive (Grade 5)

AHBRA seeks an Accounts and Payroll Executive (Grade 5) to join its team and will hold a competition for the appointment of a person. The post is based in our offices in Dublin 2. AHBRA operates a Blended Working Policy.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, the Accounts and Payroll Executive will provide dedicated support across both Finance and HR functions, with an emphasis on ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely service delivery. This role will work with the finance team to manage all payments and monitoring of budgeted spend ensuring accurate financial records. Within HR, the role will co-ordinate payroll with an external payroll provider while also supporting recruitment administration and onboarding  processes. This role provides an opportunity for significant growth for individuals wishing to expand their knowledge, skills and expertise in a regulated environment.
